Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Dick Lloyd played in the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres systems from 1980 to 1982. He was taken by the Dodgers in the 17th round of the 1980 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Calvin Schiraldi.

With the Lethbridge Dodgers in 1980, he went 5-1 with a 4.08 ERA in 53 innings. He was 1-1 with a 5.73 mark for them in 12 relief appearances in 1981. Joining the Walla Walla Padres in 1982, Lloyd went 0-2 with a 4.92 ERA in 16 games. Overall, he was 6-4 with a 4.76 ERA in 38 games.

He later became an engineer, authoring two books on warhead design and having more than 40 patents to his name.
