Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Dick Jauron was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 25th round of the 1973 amateur draft. However, he elected to play pro football instead after being chosen by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the NFL draft. A defensive back, he played eight seasons in the NFL with the Lions and Cincinnati Bengals and made the Pro Bowl once. After his playing days, he went on to be head coach of the Chicago Bears, the Lions, and the Buffalo Bills as well as assistant coach for a number of teams.
