Biographical Information[edit]
Henry "Dick" Harley, from Springfield, OH, was in the majors with the 1905 Boston Beaneaters, appearing in nine games. He was 30 years old when he was in the majors, with his last game on his 31st birthday. In the minors he went 16-12 for Baton Rouge in 1903 and 12-11 for Atlanta in 1906,
He was sometimes called Dick in the press, and sometimes Henry. There was the possibility of confusion with another player, Dick Harley, who had played in the majors some years earlier and in 1905 was a minor league manager. The press tended to refer to that Harley as Dick Harley the outfielder or Dick Harley the manager.
