Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Dick Haines played in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system from 1958 to 1962 and the Washington Senators system in 1963.
At just 19 years old in 1959, he hit .319/.392/.451 with five home runs, 76 RBI, 42 walks and only 21 strikeouts in 99 games for the Elmira Pioneers. He had the best year of his career in 1961, when he hit .355/.420/.491 with seven dingers, 57 RBI, 40 walks and 36 strikeouts in 104 games for the Des Moines Demons. Overall, he batted .302/.375/.392 with 514 hits, 20 home runs, 249 RBI, 197 walks and 163 whiffs in his six-year career.
