Biographical Information[edit]

After a thirteen-year professional playing career, pitcher Dick Egan spent time as a scout. He was the Texas Rangers bullpen coach in 1988 and 1989, a coach for the Oklahoma City 89ers in 1990, and managed the 1991 Butte Copper Kings. After spending the next decade working in the Florida Marlins organization, he joined the Detroit Tigers as a scout in 2002. He was named Special Assistant to the General Manager of the Tigers in 2007.
