Biographical Information

Dick Byrd won a Silver Medal in discus in the 1912 Olympics and also competed in baseball (starting pitcher for the US in the exhibition against Sweden), javelin, pentathlon, decathlon, high jump and long jump. He later served in the Marine Corps in World War I.
