Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Boettiger played and managed in the minors.
He hit .234 and slugged .306 in 77 games for the 1903 Seattle Siwashes and also played for the Oakland Heeseman's team. He split '04 between the Oakland Oaks and San Francisco Seals, going 7-for-63 with a double. In 1905, he was with the Oaks and the Montesano Farmers. He batted .321/?/.468 for the '06 Grays Harbor Lumbermen and fielded .966 at catcher. Only Mike Lynch had a higher average in the Northwestern League and he was third behind Jack Barnett and Lynch in doubles (21).
Boettiger batted .286/?/.395 for the 1907 Aberdeen Black Cats. He fell to .243/?/.306 in 1908. It is unclear if he played in 1909. In 1910, he hit .295/?/.403 as player-manager for the Black Cats; they were 24-29. He slipped to .219/?/.328 for the 1911 Centralia Pets.
