Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Blaisdell went 0-3 for the Kansas City Cowboys in 1884, on a team which went 16-63. Dick pitched against Philadelphia and Baltimore. While he was not successful as a pitcher, he hit .313, excellent for a team whose average was .199. Blaisdell had played for Fort Wayne in 1883, and also played for Lynn in 1884. In 1885, he played for Haverhill.
A SABR article says that Blaisdell had a "straight shoulder throw that bothers the hitters considerably". He and catcher Al Dwight had been induced to jump from the Lynn team to Kansas City. Blaisdell died in 1886 at age 24.
