Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Azar was the owner of the El Paso Texans in 1954 and 1955.
Azar was a bomber pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he established himself as a respected businessman in El Paso, TX. Azar was involved in many real estate projects, such as the El Paso Marriott, Chase Suites, the Radisson Hotel and the Clarion. He invested in oil wells and self-storage warehouses, and owned a forklift sales business, a restaurant and the Tigua Smoke Shop. His wife Suzie was the mayor of El Paso for a number of years starting in 1989.
