Biographical Information

Dhananajaya Gunapala debuted for the Sri Lankan national team as a teenager in the 2019 Asian Championship. He was excellent in closing out their 5-1 loss to Hong Kong, relieving Sasika Dulshan and allowing one hit and no runs in the final 4 1/3 IP (2 BB, 2 K). He allowed one run in 2 1/3 IP versus Pakistan. His .067 opponent average led the event, .33 ahead of Po-Yu Chen.
