In 1902 the Des Moines, IA minor league team changed its name from the Des Moines Millers to the Des Moines Midgets. They finished seventh of eight teams in the Western League at 54-83, 28.5 games behind the Kansas City Blue Stockings. The team kept changing identities and the next year were known as the Des Moines Undertakers.
