Biographical Information[edit]
Derek Bondo has pitched in Switzerland and Belgium.
Bondo won a state title as a high school senior in 2004. In junior college, he was 8-2 with a 3.50 ERA. He transferred to Concordia University Irvine and had a 4-4, 4.85 record in 2007 but fell to 4-3, 6.18 in 2008 and 2-2, 6.34 in 2009 as a senior. In 2010, he played and was an assistant coach for the Zurich Barracudas in the Ligue Nationale A, going 6-5 with a 2.34 ERA and 109 K in 68 2/3 innings; he hit .196/.303/.232. After a winter in Australia, he signed with Belgium's Hoboken Pioneers. In the 2011 European Cup, he led Hoboken with three appearances out of their five games. He did not fare well, allowing four walks, twelve hits and seven runs in seven innings.
