Biographical Information

Pitcher Davis Daniel underwent Tommy John surgery during his junior year at Auburn University in 2019, thus missing an opportunity to play for the team in the 2019 College World Series. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 7th round of the 2019 amateur draft in spite of the injury, but was unable to be added to the group of players working at the team's alternate training site during the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020 season as he was still recovering from the surgery. Prior to his being drafted by the Angels, the Chicago Cubs had made him a 34th round selection in the 2016 amateur draft coming out of high school, and the Milwaukee Brewers had taken him in the 11th round of the 2018 amateur draft after his sophomore season at Auburn.
