Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher David Whitehead was drafted twice, last by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 34th round of the 2013 amateur draft. He had a 2.19 ERA in 13 starts his first pro year, 2014, but slumped after that to 4.44 in 2015. On December 12, 2015, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Charlie Morton. After posting a 7.52 ERA in 2016, the Pirates let him go and the Phillies re-signed him for the 2017 campaign.
