Biographical Information

David Valdez played six years in the minor leagues, three with the Seattle Mariners and three with the Los Angeles Dodgers. For some reason his statistics are not available in Baseball Reference for these years. Valdez then played two years in the independent leagues in 2001-2002.

Since finishing his playing career, Valdez coached in the Boston area for twenty years in different capacities. These included opening the Valdez Baseball Academy and serving as the head coach for Bunker Hill Community College from 2017-2022. In the latter year he also worked as the hitting coach for the State College Spikes in the fledgling MLB Draft League.

Valdez moved into affiliated ball as the development coach for the Carolina Mudcats in 2023-2024.
