Biographical Information[edit]

David Forst is a General Manager.

Forst hit .406/.437/.624 with 39 RBI in 48 games as a senior at Harvard. [1] He was 4th in the Ivy League in average. [2] Despite that, he did not make All-Ivy League; Tony Coyne was picked instead at short.

Forst turned pro with the independent Springfield Cardinals. He hit .280/.350/.320 that summer but fielded only .845 at third. He did even better in a return engagement with Springfield, producing at a .294/.362/.376 clip in 1999 and scoring 60 runs in 83 games. He fielded .936 at short.

He then joined the Oakland Athletics as assistant General Manager. After 12 years in that role, he was promoted to GM in October 2015, succeeding Billy Beane. [3]
