Biographical Information

Before there was David Wright, there was Dave Wright. Although he was born, and died, in Dennison, OH, he did not play for a major league team in Ohio. Instead, he had one game with the 1895 Pittsburgh Pirates and one game with the 1897 Chicago Colts. He won the 1897 game, although he gave up 14 runs (12 earned), because his team scored 11 runs in the fifth inning to win 15-14 - it must have been sweet for Wright because the opponent was the Pirates.
