Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Dave Parrish is the son of former Detroit Tigers catcher Lance Parrish. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2000 amateur draft. He played in the minors from 2000 to 2008.

In May of 2004, Parrish spent a brief time on the Yankees' roster. On May 12th, Jorge Posada suffered a broken nose when he was struck by a thrown ball while trying to break up a double play. Parrish, who was assigned uniform #57, provided insurance behind John Flaherty. However, he never got into a game, and Posada was back in the lineup on May 18th.
