Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Jolly served in Europe with the U.S. Army during World War II (BN). He pitched in 159 games for the Milwaukee Braves from 1953 through 1957 when he returned to the minor leagues until he retired in July of 1961, giving him a total of five years in MLB and 11 seasons in the minors.
He worked for John Boyle and Company in Statesville, NC until July of 1962 when he had surgery for a brain tumor from which he never fully recovered. He died at age 38 and is buried at Stony Point Cemetery in Stony Point, NC.
Notable Achievement[edit]
- Won a World Series with the Milwaukee Braves in 1957 (he did not play in the World Series)
