Dave Herssens debuted in the First Division with the 2005 Royal Greys at age 16; he was 5 for 28 with three walks. He hit .218/?/.310 in 2006 and fielded .994, then fell to .214/?/.286 in 2007. In '08, he batted .311 and slugged .549 while driving in 35 runs in 122 AB for the league champs, still a teenager. Herrsens was 1 for 13 with two walks and eight K in the 2008 European Cup.

Dave hit .295 and slugged .482 for the 2009 Greys, also going 4 for 18 with a walk in the 2009 European Cup. He made the Belgian national team for the 2010 European Championship.
