Biographical Information[edit]
Although Dave Gregg appeared in only one major league game, SABR did a biography of him. Dave began pitching for local and town teams at age 16, and in 1911 he began to play professionally. It appeared to end in July 1914, but he tried a comeback in 1916. A newspaper obituary states that his career ended due to a bout with typhoid.
In his lone major league game, with the Cleveland Naps on June 15, 1913, he hit a batter, gave up two hits and two runs, and committed two balks in a single inning of work, to account for his time in the major leagues.
Afterwards he worked in the lumber business and helped his brother with the Vean Gregg Service Station.
