Biographical Information

Outfielder Dave Allen played in the San Francisco Giants system from 1983 to 1985. He was taken by the club in the 15th round of the 1983 amateur draft, a few picks after pitcher Steve Frey. He is listed as David Atten in some draft registries.

He hit .321/.369/.500 with 72 hits in 58 games for the Great Falls Giants in 1983, but slipped to .212/.306/.298 in 1984 and .243/.311/.326 in 1985. Overall, he batted .253/.325/.365 with 11 home runs, 95 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 233 games.
