Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Darrin Reichle was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round of the 1987 amateur draft.

In 1988, while pitching for the Charleston Rainbows, Reichle threw a no-hitter against the Charleston Wheelers on May 14, then threw another no-hitter against the Fayetteville Generals on May 30 (second game). His 3 shutouts tied for the league lead. In 1989 Reichle led the California League with 100 BB. In 1990, Reichle threw 7 innings of a combined no-hitter against the Modesto A's. In 1988, 1989 and 1990, Darrin was amongst the top 10 named prospects in the Padres organization (Baseball America). Also, in 1990, Reichle was a member of the Padres 40-man Roster. However, he never made the majors.
