Biographical Information[edit]

Darren Dreifort competed for the United States at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

He went 48-60 with a 4.36 ERA in his career. On December 11, 2000, this Scott Boras client was the beneficiary of one of the first highly questionable, big money deals given to middle of the rotation starters. The deal was worth $57 million over 5 years. He went 9-15 over the length of the pact (although he only pitched in 3 of those seasons due to injuries).

While sidelined by injury, he ranked 7th in the NL in salary in 2005 ($13.4 million).
