Biographical Information[edit]
Darko Kvaternik pitched for the Croatian national team at age 16 in the 2012 European Championship; he was five years younger than the team's next-youngest performer (Nikola Sertić). He appeared in one game, a 16-0, 5-inning mercy rule loss to champion Italy. He relieved Dejan Marin with a 12-0 deficit in the 2nd and outperformed the starter, holding Italy to 4 runs in the following 3 1/3 IP. The first batter he faced was 2012 Eastern League All-Star Chris Colabello, who struck out. The biggest hit off him was a 2-run single by Giovanni Pantaleoni.
