Danny Miranda was a first baseman in Cuba and won a Gold Medal in the Olympics.
Miranda spent his Cuban career with Ciego de Ávila. He hut .297/.391/.479 in 2000-2001. In 2001-2002, he batted .318/.386/.491 with 8 triples to tie Manuel Benavides and Yunieski Betancourt for the Serie Nacional lead. Miranda hit .318/.384/.459 in 2002-2003. In 2003-2004, Miranda had a career year, producing at a .358/.444/.557 rate. He tied Yulieski Gourriel for 6th in the league in average.
Miranda was 3 for 16 with two walks and a double for Cuba in the 2004 Olympics. Hitting 8th in the Gold Medal game, he was 0 for 3 with a sacrifice hit as Cuba beat Australia 6-2. It was Miranda's lone appearance for the Cuban national team.
In 2004-2005, Danny hit .286/.417/.415. He had a strong year in 2005-2006, batting .310/.412/.539 with 18 home runs. In 2006-2007, he slumped to .221/.310/.312. He bounced back a bit to hit .265/.393/.308 in 2007-2008 (fielding .998 at first base) then retired as Yorelvis Charles took over his job. He had hit .298/.389/.454 from 2000-2008.
