Biographical Information[edit]

" . . . a star outfielder on the Chicago National and American League baseball teams . . . " - description of Danny Green in his New York Times obituary in 1914

Danny Green played eight years in the majors, all for Chicago teams. His hitting was above average every year of his career, and he stole 192 bases in the eight years. He primarily played right field.

His last season was 1905, so he missed the 1906 season when both Chicago teams won their respective pennants and met in the 1906 World Series.

Green played thereafter in the minors. While playing for Minneapolis, he was beaned on the head and never recovered. His New York Times obituary says he died several years later in "an institution". He died before he was 40.
