Biographical Information

Not to be confused with actor and MTV Sports host Dan Cortese, 6' 6" right-hander Dan Cortes was a 7th round pick of Dan Ontiveros and the Chicago White Sox in the 2005 amateur draft. His big league career consisted of 14 appearances out of the Seattle Mariners bullpen in 2010 and 2011, recording an 0-3, 5.06 line.

In December 2005, while bowling with some co-workers from a summer job, he survived being stabbed eight times attempting to break up a skirmish between a colleague and an assailant; the co-worker later died from his injuries.
