Biography[edit]
Dan Woodman was in the majors for two years, both times in the Federal League. Each year he was the youngest player on the Buffalo team (known first as the Buffeds and then the Blues). In 1914, he posted a 2.41 ERA in 33 2/3 innings (the team ERA was 3.16).
There have been several players named Wood or Woods, but Dan is the only Woodman.
In the minors, he had parts of four seasons with New Haven and parts of three with Hartford, among other places. Because he came to the majors so young - at the age of 20 - he was still pitching in the minors many years later, at age 37.
Through 2019, he is the third of four major leaguers born in Danvers, MA.
