Biographical Information

Immediately following his playing days, catcher Dan Whitmer joined the Detroit Tigers as a bullpen catcher and also coached from 1992 to 1994.

He was the first major league player to come out of Cal State Fullerton when he made his major league debut in 1980, but the university would rapidly become one of the colleges producing the most major leaguers.
