Biographical Information

Dan Penno was an early black baseball shortstop who played for the Boston Resolutes in 1887 and then the Cuban Giants in 1898. Due to a lack of information on his life, it is unclear what he was doing in the 11-year span between his appearances with each team. It is possible that he was still playing, though any documented proof of so has not been uncovered yet.
