Dan Barry
Daniel Augustine Barry
- Born August 29, 1886 in Boston, MA USA
- Died February 9, 1947 in Boston, MA USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Barry spent one full season as an American League umpire in 1928, working 132 games.
He had been a high school and semi-pro player in his youth and according to his Sporting News card was signed by the New York Yankees. There is no record of him playing in the minor leagues however, and he apparently became an umpire because he injured his arm. He was also a sportswriter with the Boston Post.
