Biographical Information

Damichel González pitched in the Cuban Serie Nacional for eight years. He threw a no-hitter for Las Tunas against Camagüey on March 5, 2005. He was 7-5 with 8 saves and a 4.66 ERA in 34 games in 2007-2008. That year, he tied Yunieski Maya and three others for 6th in the league in saves and tied Odrisamer Despaigne and Vladimir García for 7th in games pitched. In his final season, 2008-2009, he went 4-4 with two saves, a 5.53 ERA and .335 opponent average for Las Tunas. Overall, he was 39-44 with 39 saves and a 4.79 ERA in 238 games in Cuba (40 starts). In 653 1/3 innings, he allowed 779 hits and 282 walks while striking out 237.
