Dallas Blackiston
Dallas Blackiston is the often-unnamed umpire at the heart of a famous baseball quote. Working in the 1947 South Atlantic League, he made a call during an Augusta Tigers-Greenville Spinners game with which Greenville manager Frenchy Bordagaray disagreed. Bordagaray struck Blackiston and spit on him. When Frenchy was suspended for 60 days, he said it "was more than he expectorated."
