Biographical Information

Daisei Sugimoto was a Pacific League umpire from 1999 (debuting on his 31st birthday) until 2019. He worked 950 games, including the 2008 NPB All-Star Games, 2012 NPB All-Star Games and 2019 NPB All-Star Games. He was never picked to work a Japan Series due to a number of controversial calls. He also worked the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship.
