Biographical Information[edit]
Dai Dai Otaka played middle infield at Yale University from 2017-2020 and earned a bachelor's degree in political science. In his first season he was named Yale Rookie of the Year. Otaka played a final season in 2021 while in graduate school at Johns Hopkins University.
The Houston Astros hired Otaka in 2022 as a development coach for the FCL Astros Blue. After the minor league season ended he spent a few days in Houston and Dusty Baker allowed him to bring the line-up card to the umpires. The following year he joined the Chicago Cubs organization as their minor league infield coordinator.
