The Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers combined to field one Dominican Summer League team in 1989. They were 16-39 to finish last in the 13-team league. The teams would each send players to other co-op teams until the Brewers fielded a full DSL Brewers squad in 1991, the Orioles fielded the 1996 DSL Orioles, and the Red Sox fielded the 1997 DSL Red Sox.
