The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox shared an affiliate in the Dominican Summer League in 1996. For the Brewers, it was the third year of split sponsorship before returning to a full DSL Brewers team in 1997. The White Sox had split sponsorships in the DSL in 1989-1993 and 1995 and would drop the DSL in 1997. They would return with another split team in 1998 before finally having a full DSL White Sox team in 1999. The team was 32-38 to finish 5th in the 7-team Santo Domingo West division.
