Biographical information[edit]
Cy Lingle was a longtime minor league catcher, playing from 1913 to 1914, 1916 to 1918 and 1920 to 1934 - a total of 20 seasons. He hit over .300 twice (minimum 100 at-bats), batting .318 with 14 home runs and a .525 slugging percentage in 105 games for the Des Moines Demons in 1925. and .323 with a .497 slugging percentage in 106 games for the Demons in 1930.
He managed the Lincoln Links in 1934 (though he was replaced by Pug Griffin partway through the year) and 1935.
He was suspended from baseball supposedly for gambling, though no official reason was given.
His birth year has also been listed as 1898.[1]
