Biographical Information[edit]
Curly Clement was a replacement umpire in the American League in 1978, when major league umpires staged a one-day walk-out on August 25th, and again at the start of the 1979 season, when their strike lasted much longer. However, he only worked one game during that period, for a career total of two. He was a long-time college umpire. He worked two College World Series and is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame.
