Curaçao is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela. It is the largest island of the Netherlands Antilles, which was formerly a self-governing country in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It became a self-governing country in its own right in December 2008, but continued to be represented in baseball by the Netherlands national baseball team until the Curaçao national baseball team was formed in the late 2010s.
