Crazy '08: How a cast of cranks, rogues, boneheads and magnates created the greatest year in baseball history
(Redirected from Crazy '08)
Crazy '08, by Cait Murphy, was published in 2007. It is an excellently researched (citing many, many books, articles and other sources) and well-written description of the memorable 1908 season. It primarily focuses on the 1908 NL race between the Cubs, Pirates and Giants but gives a chapter-and-a-bit to the 1908 AL race as well as brief snippets on other items of interest. It is an excellent historical coverage of one of the best baseball seasons ever. The book also includes an illustration of Tinker, Evers and Chance by the author's father, famed Prince Valiant cartoonist John Cullen Murphy.
