Biographical Information

Craig Driver was a catcher in college, then joined the coaching ranks as an assistant coach for his alma mater, the University of Puget Sound in August 2011. He coached there through the 2012 season before going to graduate school at Central Washington University. In addition to his studies, Driver worked as a graduate assistant coach for two years. He then returned to the Puget Sound Loggers in 2015-2016 where he worked as the school's athletic recruitment coordinator and as an assistant coach. Driver moved to the east coast in 2017 and served as the catching coach for Yale University under former major league pitcher John Stuper.

He moved to the professional ranks in 2018, when he became receiving coach and bullpen catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies under new manager Gabe Kapler. During the 2019 season he worked very closely with J.T. Realmuto who won a Gold Glove, but left at the same time as Kapler at the end of the season.

In 2020 Driver found work with the Chicago Cubs as first base coach and catching coach, working for a former major league catcher in manager David Ross. In 2022, his title changed to catching coach and game strategy coach, roles which he retained in 2023.
