Biographical Information[edit]

Colt Griffin was a High School All-American in 2001 and was the first documented high school pitcher to throw 100mph. He was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 1st Round (9th overall) of the 2001 amateur draft. Griffin was signed by scout Gerald Turner and made his pro debut that summer.

Griffin retired July 25, 2006, having never pitched above AA ball. In 373 minor league innings he walked 278, hit 44 batters, and threw 82 wild pitches. He posted a career 4.79 ERA
