Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Cole Hyson played in the minor leagues from 1989 to 1992 and again in 1994. He was taken by the Houston Astros in the 9th round of the 1989 amateur draft, a few picks ahead of future NLCS MVP Sterling Hitchcock and All-Star Jeffrey Hammonds. He was signed by scouts Chuck Edmondson and Walt Matthews. He played in the Astros system until 1991, then played in the San Diego Padres organization in 1992 and 1994.
Overall, Hyson went 18-28 with a 4.25 ERA in 91 games (61 starts) over five seasons.
