Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Cody Hebner has played in the San Diego Padres minor league system since 2011 (through 2014). He was drafted by the club in the 4th round of the 2011 amateur draft.

In his first professional season, Hebner was 2-2 with a 3.35 ERA in 11 games (7 starts), striking out 39 batters in 37 2/3 innings for the Eugene Emeralds. In 2012, he was 7-7 with a 5.01 ERA in 25 games (20 starts), while averaging more than a strikeout per inning, for the Fort Wayne TinCaps. In 2013, he was 2-2 with a 3.62 ERA in 58 relief appearances for the Lake Elsinore Storm, striking out 78 in 74 2/3 innings. He led the California League in appearances that year. He began 2014 with the Storm.
