Biographical Information[edit]

Clyde "Tub" Perry was a minor league and semi-pro pitcher. In his one year in the minor leagues, he had a 7-7 record for the San Francisco Seals in the Pacific Coast League in 1930. In his 1929 season, which spring-boarded him to the Pacific Coast League, he won 16 games against just 2 losses with a 2.05 ERA for Colusa in the semi-pro Sacramento Valley League. After his 1930 season, he returned to the semi-pro ranks. In 1932 he was an outfielder for his home town Sutter City, and led them to a Peach League pennant. He pitched for about forever in semi-pro ball, at least until 1950. It was his 27th year playing semi-pro and pro ball. He also played basketball. Clyde passed away June 20, 1971.

He was also a great hitter. In his year in the Pacific Coast League, he hit .327 with 5 doubles in 55 at-bats. He hit .400 at least five times in semi-pro ball, including leading the Sacramento Valley League in 1937 with a mark of .454. He spent much of the 1930s as a right fielder. Weighed 205 pounds in 1924, and was very large by the end of his career.

His son, Clyde Brud Perry, played in the minors from 1948 to 1958.
