Biographical Information[edit]
Clyde Manion was a catcher who played 13 years in the major leagues. He was not much of a hitter, with a .218 career average, and oddly enough, he batted better at the start of his career than in the middle or end of it.
With a lifetime .253 slugging percentage, he had only 3 major league home runs.
Only once did he have more than 200 at-bats in a season, and that was in 1928 when he came to the St. Louis Browns. He had 2 of his career 3 home runs that season, when he had 243 at-bats.
