Biographical Information[edit]
Cliff Schaller worked a total of 9 games as a replacement umpire in the National League in 1978 and 1979. His debut came when the regular umpires staged a one-day strike on August 25, 1978, and he worked another 8 games at the start of the following season when the umpires went on a more prolonged strike.
He had previously worked briefly as an umpire in the Gulf Coast League in 1971.
