Biographical Information[edit]
Clifford Joseph "Red" Hill served in the U.S. Army during World War I. In 1917, he pitched one game in the majors with the Philadelphia Athletics. In addition, he had eleven years in the minors, winning the large percentage of his decisions. With the minor league Baltimore Orioles team in 1917, he was 20-12, and after World War I he followed that up in 1919 with a record of 12-3. Early in his career, he spent four years with the Waco Navigators, going 23-14 in 1916.
